Collection: Sea Pottery

I love to search the rocky coastline and sandy beaches in Fife for antique sea pottery. The fragments can date back over 100 years to when the ceramic factories in Kirkcaldy were throwing their broken pieces and seconds into the sea. Locals also used to throw broken china into the sea for 'good luck'! Each piece of pottery is a one-off and has been reshaped and transformed by the sea. With their own unique pattern and shape, they are miniature works of art in themselves, created by the power of nature. The colours and designs are fascinating and often still as vivid as the day they were made, despite battling the rough Scottish seas!
