'Compass' Sailing Boat - Beach Pottery - Pebble Art Driftwood Ornament (No. 1127)

'Compass' Sailing Boat - Beach Pottery - Pebble Art Driftwood Ornament (No. 1127)

A driftwood ornament created using driftwood, antique beach pottery, stones and pebbles found washed-up on the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
This tiny scene features some of my favourite beach finds! It features a beautiful sailing boat, one of the sails has a piece of antique beach pottery with a partial pattern of a compass! (see 2nd photo). Absolutely perfect for a boat! The base of the boat is made from a very old-looking piece of sponge-ware china. Two further pieces of pottery form hills and sea. One features a glorious pattern of a dog rose flower. A customer informed me this is the Marks & Spencer pattern called 'Autumn Leaves' that was hugely popular in the 1980's! Wire wrapping has been used to create a mast for the boat, a seagull in the sky and a tiny silver fish in the sea. An original piece of metalwork is still in the driftwood and makes a final nice feature!
The piece measures approximately 7cm wide by 9.5cm high. The wood has a flat bottom so the piece can be a freestanding ornament. (Item: 1127)
