A delicate pair of stud earrings, made using tiny fragments of reclaimed antique beach pottery. These feature the famous blue & white "willow" pattern, still gloriously vivid despite decades tumbling in the Scottish waves! The posts and butterfly backs are sterling silver. The studs measure approximately 7mm x 5mm. Each pair comes complete with a gift box. (Item:1620)
See the additional photos for a picture of the earrings taken with an ear template to see 'actual size' when worn! (I've also included a photo showing an example of the famous Willow pattern - I'm sure you'll recognise it!)
All the china used to make the necklaces are sourced from the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland. Much of the pottery dates back to the Victorian era, when ceramic factories threw their 'seconds' into the sea and locals used to cast their broken pottery into the waves for good luck! The pottery has been gently worn smooth by the rough Scottish seas but the patterns and colours remain vibrant, a testament to the manufacturing processes of the time.
