Blue Stripy Beach Pottery Drop Earrings - Silver Celtic Wire-Wrapped Sea China (1755)
A beautiful pair of earrings made from antique Scottish sea pottery. Despite being found on separate occasions, this pair are a great match and feature a lovely stripy blue pattern! The earrings are wrapped in silver-plated wire to accentuate the colour and shape of the pottery and finished with Celtic swirls. Hooks are silver-plated and nickel free. The earrings measure approximately 5.5cm from the top of the hook to the bottom of the sea glass. Each pair comes complete with a gift box. (Item:1755)
All the sea glass, pottery and shells used to make the necklaces are sourced from the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland. Much of the pottery dates back to the Victorian era, when ceramic factories threw their 'seconds' into the sea and locals used to cast their broken pottery into the waves for good luck! The pottery has been gently worn smooth by the rough Scottish seas but the patterns and colours remain vibrant, a testament to the manufacturing processes of the time.
