Cornflower Blue Scottish Sea Glass Drop Earrings - Silver Wire-Wrapped Celtic Seaglass (1703)
A beautiful pair of delicate earrings made from Scottish pale blue cornflower sea glass. The earrings are wrapped in silver-plated wire and tiny Celtic spirals have been added to accentuate the colour and shape of the seaglass. Hooks are silver-plated and nickel free. The earrings measure approximately 5cm from the top of the hook to the bottom of the sea glass. Each pair comes complete with a gift box. (Item:1703)
The sea glass has been reshaped and smoothed over decades of tumbling in the Scottish waves. Blue glass in particular is rare. It was commonly used in medicine (or poison!) bottles, which were traditionally made from thinner glass than beer or wine bottles and is therefore harder to find in larger pieces.
All the sea glass, pottery and shells used to make the jewellery are sourced from the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland. The glass and pottery have been gently worn smooth by the rough Scottish seas and can often date back over 100 years!
