Framed square mosaic using beautiful pieces of local Scottish green sea glass . The shades of glass have been arranged in a simple square showing the glorious colour palette from dark olive green to bright emerald, the evocatively named 'sea foam' and finishing with white at the top. You could easily change the orientation if you preferred the darker colours on top or going side to side! This original art comes in a wooden box frame and measures 23cm square - a little larger than my usual framed pieces!
Please choose your frame colour (either white wood or rustic washed wood) using the drop down menu. (Item:1645)
The sea glass washes up on the beautiful beaches in Anstruther in the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland. Much of it dates back to the Victorian era and is known as 'mermaid tears'. When sailors were lost at sea, the mermaids would cry and their tears would wash up on the shore. The glass has been reshaped and smoothed over decades of tumbling in the Scottish waves!
