A framed beach collage created using antique beach pottery, shells, stones and pebbles found washed-up on the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
This seaside scene features a hand-painted pebble puffin sitting on a piece of driftwood. Two tiny fishing boats bob in the water alongside, all made from antique beach pottery. A large piece of blue & white pottery sits in the foreground, part of the pattern is still visible - trees and a bridge. On the horizon another piece of blue and white pottery with a leaf pattern forms the bass rock and a piece of sea coal has been used to create another island. All of the antique pottery used in my art has been found while beach-combing and is most likely 19th Century - probably Victorian. The patterns and colours are often gloriously vivid despite decades of tumbling in the Scottish seas. Wire wrapping has been used to make the puffin's feet, a seagull in the sky and a tiny silver fish in the sea.
The piece comes in a wooden box frame and measures 18cm square. Please choose your frame colour (either white wood or rustic washed wood) using the drop down menu. (Item:1133)
