A framed beach collage created using antique beach pottery, shells, stones and pebbles found washed-up on the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
This seaside scene features a hand-painted pebble puffin sitting on a piece of driftwood bark. A tiny blue whale swims alongside, all made from antique blue & white beach pottery. On the horizon, two tiny pieces of pottery forms hills. One has a beautiful floral pattern. Another piece of pottery in brown and cream sits in the foreground. All of the antique pottery used in my art has been found while beach-combing and is most likely 19th Century - probably Victorian. The patterns and colours are often gloriously vivid despite decades of tumbling in the Scottish seas. Wire wrapping has been used to make the puffin's feet, a seagull in the sky, a tiny silver fish in the sea and water spouts for the whale.
The piece comes in a wooden box frame and measures 18cm square. Please choose your frame colour (either white wood or rustic washed wood) using the drop down menu. (Item:1131)
