Pebble Seagull & Beach Pottery - Driftwood Ornament (No. 1114)
A driftwood ornament created using driftwood, antique beach pottery, stones and pebbles found washed-up on the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
This tiny seaside scene features a pottery seagull, its wings made from a lovely shard of rare cornflower-coloured Scottish sea glass. Two beautiful pieces of antique beach pottery form grass and sea in the foreground. Both have gorgeous intricate patterns, still vibrant after decades of tumbling in the rough Scottish seas. One features a green and white floral pattern and the other shows part of a lady! Wire wrapping has been used to create the seagull's feet and beak, a seagull in the sky and a tiny silver fish in the sea. The driftwood itself is part of an old fishing creel, found washed up on the beach!
The piece measures approximately 7cm wide by 10cm high. The wood has a flat bottom so the piece can be a freestanding ornament. (Item: 1114)
