Pebble Seagull & Beach Spongeware Pottery Driftwood Ornament (No. 1109)
A driftwood ornament created using driftwood, antique beach pottery, stones and pebbles found washed-up on the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
This tiny seaside scene features a pottery seagull, its wings made from delicately patterned blue & white sea pottery, probably from the famous 'willow' pattern. A beautiful piece of green, blue and red spongeware pottery forms a grassy hill. A second piece of blue pottery forms the sea, complete with a tiny silver fish. Wire wrapping has been used to create the seagull's feet and beak, a seagull in the sky and the fish in the sea.
The piece measures approximately 6.5cm wide by 6cm high. The wood has a flat bottom so the piece can be a freestanding ornament. (Item: 1109)
