Seagull & Sailing Boat - Beach Pottery - Pebble Art Driftwood Ornament (No. 1109)
A driftwood ornament created using driftwood, antique beach pottery, stones, pebbles and driftwood found washed-up on the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
This little seaside scene features a pebble seagull with wings made from tiny shards of rare turquoise sea glass. The seagull sits on a piece of sea-worn pebble-dash masonry, found on Cellardyke beach. A beautiful sailing boat has been amde from antique beach pottery, it's patterns still vivid and colourful after years tumbling in the Scottish seas. Another chunky piece of blue pottery forms the sea in the foreground.
Wire wrapping forms the seagull's beak & feet, a seagull in the sky, a silver fish in the sea and a mast for the boat.
The scene is mounted onto a piece of driftwood which measures approximately 7.5cm wide by 9cm high. The wood has a flat bottom so the piece can be a freestanding ornament. (Item: 1019)
