Pebble Seagull, Whale & Sailing Boat - Beach Pottery Driftwood Ornament (No. 1022)
A driftwood ornament created using driftwood, antique beach pottery, stones, pebbles and driftwood found washed-up on the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
This little seaside scene features a pebble seagull with wings made from tiny shards of blue & white antique beach pottery. More pottery has been used to create a stunning sailing boat. A piece of pottery featuring the famous 'willow pattern' has been used to form a rock for the seagull to sit on.
Wire wrapping forms the seagull's beak & feet, a seagull in the sky, fish in the sea, a mast for the boat and some choppy waves.
The scene is mounted onto a piece of driftwood with the original dark blue flaky paint, probably part of a boat. The piece measures approximately 9cm wide by 6cm high. The wood has a flat bottom so the piece can be a freestanding ornament. (Item: 1022)
