Original beach-combed pebble art, handmade using antique sea pottery & shells from the glorious beaches of the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland.
This is a brand new range - incorporating original watercolour paintings and some of my most beautiful beach finds.
This night-time scene features a little seal, hand-painted onto plain beach pottery. The scene is set against a watercolour moon-lit background - a full moon shines bright in the night sky, alongside twinkling stars. The seal sits on a fragment of beach slate and two beautiful pieces of grey and blue antique beach pottery sit alongside. Wire wrapping has been used to add the finishing touches of a tiny silver fish in the sea.
This original pebble art comes in a wooden box frame and measures 18cm square. Please choose your frame colour (either white wood or rustic washed wood) using the drop down menu. (Item:1322)
These fragments of patterned pottery and china gather between the rocks and pebbles at low tide. Many of these pieces originate from the 1800’s and 1900’s, sometimes dating back to the Victorian and Regency eras when the nearby town of Kirkcaldy was at the heart of the Scottish pottery industry. Despite being tumbled and smoothed by the Scottish waves for so long, the patterns and colours remain wonderfully vibrant and the transformative power of the sea ensures each fragment is entirely unique.
