A beautiful pendant necklace made from antique reclaimed beach pottery. This piece features the famous blue & white "willow" pattern, still gloriously vivid despite decades tumbling in the Scottish waves! The necklace has been wrapped in wire and finished with a tiny Celtic swirl. The pendant measures approximately 3.5cm high. It comes complete with a silver-plated 18" snake chain and gift box. (Item:1683)
(I've included a photo showing an example of the famous Willow pattern - I'm sure you'll recognise it!)
All the sea glass, pottery and shells used to make the necklaces are sourced from the beautiful beaches of the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland. Much of the pottery dates back to the Victorian era, when ceramic factories threw their 'seconds' into the sea and locals used to cast their broken pottery into the waves for good luck! The pottery has been gently worn smooth by the rough Scottish seas but the patterns and colours remain vibrant, a testament to the manufacturing processes of the time.
