The seaglass has been worn smooth and frosted after decades of tumbling in the North sea. The earrings are wire-wrapped in silver-plated wire with a Celtic-inspired design that highlights the natural beauty of the glass. All my jewellery is handmade in Scotland from naturally sea-worn materials. I love to gather these treasures while beach-combing on the beautiful beaches in Anstruther in the East Neuk of Fife as well as the surrounding beaches of St Andrews, Pittenweem, Crail & St Monans. Much of the seaglass dates back to the Victorian era and is known as 'mermaid tears'. When sailors were lost at sea, the mermaids would cry and their tears would wash up on the shore.
